Max, was born and raised by migrant parents in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs where he still calls home. After high school, he embarked on a spray painting apprenticeship. During his apprenticeship he was awarded Spray Painter of the year and Automotive Trainee of the year. Fast forward about ten years, he went looking for new challenges and opportunities.
With a pat on the back from his new boss, he’d enter his first sales role, still in the smash repair industry. Max progressed successfully from a tradesman to a sales representative and finally to a Business Development Managers role in a multinational company.
In 2010 Max took the opportunity to form a business partnership and purchased a medium sized, independent smash repair facility. After throwing himself in the deep end it was time to either sink or swim, and swim he did even in adverse conditions, even sparing some time to support the growth and nurturing of apprentices through Autoskills Australia.
One of his first passions was cars, building his first car at the age of 17 and having it ready just in time to get his licence. Many years passed with just as many car builds as grazed knuckles. The passion dwindled, but was rekindled with motorcycles. Now more passionate than ever with his new found hobby.
Max took it upon himself to challenge EPA Victoria in regards to noise restrictions. He made short work of exposing inconsistencies, out dated regulations and the failure to adopt National Regulations, forcing changes to be made. This only reinforced his opinion that state based regulations are simple not required to maintain national standard.
Max is a strong advocate for:
A no nonsense approach to real road safety issues
Improving driver education
National standard for modified vehicles
Abolishment of state based vehicles standards
Repeal of out dated noise limitations
A single National standard for motorcycle helmets
Support and promotion of Apprenticeships and investigation into RTO’s
Investigation of coercion and bullying in the smash repair industry by insurance companies
Unfortunately, with the Government calling the Election early Max Caruso will be in Europe and won't be back in time for Election Day, so won't be contesting the 2015 Federal Election.
